Bramley Bank is a stretch of woodland , below heathfield, and is managed by the London Wildlife Trust . At Bramley Bank you will find the find the largest natural woodland pond in Croydon. A project has been underway to widen the pond and supports its banks to encourage plant growth, insects and fish.
The plan must be working as I often see the resident heron fishing for his supper! Unfortunately he was not at home when I photographed the pond.
Since the pond has been renovated more water is retained in the pond during dry or humid conditions.
